Waterloo Playground

Waterloo Playground

Waterloo was reclaimed by the community after many years of neglect & deferred maintenance. MTWB & partners worked with City agencies & the local community to re-envision this space for decades of use. Engagement activities have included monthly community meetings, Youth Project Team programming, and technical support for the Waterloo Advisory Council.

Court + Mural

Working with Mural Arts artist Carlos Rosa & Project Backboard, Waterloo has Philadelphia’s first basketball court surface mural.

Rec Building

Various enhancements to Rec Center Building to make it even more useful for the community.

Furniture

A series of hands-on building days with Tiny WPA, where residents learned basic carpentry skills.
