Steph Garcia is an engagement coordinator and artist passionate about finding new ways to give voice to communities. Originally from Venice, California, she moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her B.A. in Fine Art. Her thesis focused on undocumented migration and the overall practice of listening. Before joining MTWB, Steph served as the Van Doren Fellow for student engagement at the Institute of Contemporary Art at Penn. Outside of MTWB, she is the editorial coordinator and assistant curator for Monument Lab, an independent public art and history studio that seeks to reimagine public spaces through stories of social justice and equity. In her spare time, Steph enjoys riding her bike, hiking, and exploring new places.
